What to Share

“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.” – Philippians 4:8, NIV

Cindy was a women’s ministry leader at her local church. She loved helping the women and supporting them through the various stages of life.

When Cindy’s church hired a marketing team to help them manage their digital presence, the leadership asked Cindy to start a Facebook page. The page would be all about the women’s ministry.

Cindy was more than willing to take on the task, but she was stumped. “What do I post about? What should I share with our followers?”

The marketing team gave Cindy a few ideas:

Post a testimony. Talk to a woman whose life was changed as a result of her relationship with Jesus. Then write up a short post (2-3 paragraphs) and share it on the page.

Use video. Take a clip from a lesson or event and upload the video to Facebook. Remember, to keep the video under 5 minutes for the most views.

Ask questions. These can be relevant to faith, but they don’t have to be. Simply asking your followers what their favorite holiday is or what destination they’d love to visit can inspire conversations.

Share inspiring quotes. Use inspirational images to communicate with your followers. This can be as simple as a photo with Scripture, song lyrics, or quotes added.

When it comes to social media, a good policy to follow is Philippians 4:8. Post only content that is true and admirable!

Prayer:

Lord, show me what to share online. Help me to focus on content that is positive and uplifting. Let me shine Your light online and offline. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
