Unified in Peace

“Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.” – Ephesians 4:3

Shane took a deep breath and pressed the send button on the email. He’d spent several days writing and re-writing it. The lengthy message was a difficult one to compose. He recognized an attitude in his friend’s life that he knew could lead to sin.

Although Shane tried to approach his friend in the email humbly, he worried when he didn’t hear a response. Normally, he spoke with his friend several times each week, but this week, he’d heard nothing.

Shane wasn’t sure what to do next. As he prayed over the situation, he bumped into his friend at the grocery store. His friend smiled and greeted him warmly.

At the end of their conversation, Shane’s friend leaned in for a hug. “Thank you for sharing that message. It took me a few days to process it, but now, I understand what you were saying. Thanks for looking out for me.”

Prayer:

Lord, help me to confront sin lovingly. I don’t want to do it from a place of pride or arrogance. Let there be a bond of unity between my friends and me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
