Social Media Pastor

“Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood.” – Acts 20:28, NIV

Dave Adamson longed to share his faith with others online. He wasn’t sure how to do it until he discovered Instagram. He loved the social media platform so much that he decided to post short devotionals to it.

Each morning, Dave would post a photo that inspired him along with a few thoughts on a spiritual topic. By doing this, he has developed a following of almost 35,000 people who are eager to hear the messages he’s sharing.

It can be tempting to think that you have to do something grand to showcase your faith. But Dave’s story illustrates that it doesn’t have to be that way. Sometimes, the loudest testimony is simply showing up day after day.

Do make sure that what you’re doing flows from an activity that you enjoy. Then your online ministry is something you look forward to and anticipate. For Dave, he loved photography, and it was a natural extension of his faith.

Prayer:

Lord, help me as I explore my interests and hobbies. Show me how to turn one into an online ministry that honors You! In Jesus’ name, Amen.
