Scrapbook of Love

“As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love.” – John 15:9, NIV

Jack had been a teacher at a local elementary school for almost four decades. As he neared retirement, his adult children wanted a way to celebrate Jack’s dedication to the children of their town.

So, they set out to create a scrapbook filled with memories that would honor and bless their dad. They interviewed some of their father’s first students – many who had children or grandchildren of their own. They collected pictures of their father at various school events and added them to the album, too.

When it was time for Jack’s retirement party, his children brought out the book. It brought tears to his eyes to see the impact that he’d had during his career. He treasured the scrapbook for the rest of his life.

Sometimes, family members need to be reminded that they’re special. They need to be told that what they’re doing is making a positive impact. They need to be celebrated.

Who in your life could you celebrate today? Your mom? A sibling? Your grandparent? A cousin? Choose someone today!

Prayer:

Lord, show me who I can lift up and encourage today. I want to celebrate a family member and let them know I care. Help me to share Your love tangibly. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
