Peace without Answers

“I will listen to what God the LORD says; he promises peace to his people, his faithful servants– but let them not turn to folly.” – Psalm 85:8

Andrea quit her job to become the caretaker of her adult daughter who’d been injured in a car accident. A few months later, her husband had a heart attack and passed away.

But Andrea never lost her sweet spirit. Even in the middle of her pain, she showed up in her church and her community. She served others and comforted them in their grief.

When someone asked Andrea how she could hold onto her faith, she said, “I thought if I could just get answers to my questions, I would be okay. But the more I searched, the more desperate I became. I had to let go of my questions and let my Heavenly Father’s love comfort me.”

Like Andrea, you may encounter hard things in life. You may have dozens of questions, and that’s understandable. But getting the answers won’t ease your pain or make you feel better. It’s only in God’s presence that you’ll find true peace.

Prayer:

Lord, I’m asking for peace today. I’m weary and battle-worn. I’m laying all of my questions and fear down. Please wrap me in Your embrace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
