Love on Your Community

“May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for each other and for everyone else, just as ours does for you.” – 1 Thessalonians 3:12, NIV

Sheri loved fashion and makeup. She was passionate about these topics and often spoke at women’s ministry events. She enjoyed encouraging women to look at their bodies and personalities through God’s eyes.

When Sheri was with her college-age daughter and some of her daughter’s friends, they encouraged her to give Instagram a try. Sheri didn’t use social media a lot and thought she wouldn’t like the profile.

But as soon as she began viewing the fashion and cosmetics hashtags, she knew she’d stumbled onto a way to amplify her message. She was hooked!

She started sharing makeup tutorials, posting silly selfies, and inspiring graphics that encouraged her community. As her following grew, more ministry leaders began to reach out to Sheri, so she spent less time marketing and more time loving (and leading) her followers.

Be like Sheri! Try new social media networks and experiment. You never know which venues might resonate with your community!

Prayer:

Lord, help me to be willing to step into new networks, even when they make me nervous. I want to meet people where they are so I can share Your love. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
