A Lack of Peace

“If someone who promotes peace is there, your peace will rest on them; if not, it will return to you.” – Luke 10:6

“I’m thinking of taking this writing course,” Sally said to her friend, “but I’m not sure about the instructor. I can’t quite put my finger on it.”

Sally’s friend helped her research the instructor. “The writer’s information might be good. But she’s known to start bullying and belittling other writers. You may want to avoid learning from her.”

When Jesus sent out his disciples, He instructed them to bless the home where they would stay. But He explained if the owner of the house wasn’t a peaceful person, that the disciples would feel the peace return to them.

Sometimes, you may encounter situations where you lack peace. Perhaps a doctor says you need an operation, but you don’t feel peaceful about the upcoming surgery. Maybe your friend recommends a mentor that makes you feel uneasy.

In situations where you lack peace, it’s wise to slow down and pray. In some cases, a lack of peace can be felt because God doesn’t want you to walk that path.

Prayer:

Lord, please give me wisdom and discernment over this situation. If this path is the one I’m supposed to walk, please grant me peace. If it’s not the right move, then reveal that to me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
